During our last night at Radium Hot Springs, British Columbia, Canada, we decided to try the local restaurant on the main street in Radium Hot Springs, Backcountry Jack’s Museum Restauarant. I ordered a Jack’s Burger with homemade fries and Jack’s Lemonade (Jack Daniels and lemonade). The burger featured a 5 oz. thick chunk of beef with cheddar cheese, pickles, onion, tomato, and lettuce. The fries were definitely handcut and surprisingly good.

Pam ordered Jack’s Little New York, a small New York steak garnished with peppers and fries. The steak was cooked to medium well as requested. Pam said that the steak was the best she had enjoyed in a long time. Pam also had a Jack’s in Jamaica, a frozen mixed cocktail that was supposed to taste like banana but instead had an orange twist.

Derrick had the half rack of barebecue spare ribs with fries. He didn’t coment much on the taste because he was too busy eating. That usually means that he liked it a lot.

For dessert, I had a slice of apple pie a la mode, and Pam had a slice of cheesecake. They were both excellent desserts.

Our waitress at Backcountry Jack’s was very helpful and courteous, despite our arriving 15 minutes before closing and allowing us to stay while the rest of the restaurant was being closed down for the night. The bill came to CDN$67, which is about US$58.

Overall, Backcoutry Jack’s turned out to be our best meal of the weekend. We would highly recommend Backcountry Jack’s for anyone visiting or driving through Radium Hot Springs, BC, Canada. Link
